            Piecing together stories.  Capiz Sapian was found during the 17th century by small groups of people who settled near the seacoast on a hilltop of catadman, half kilometer east of the present, half kilometer east of the present state of Poblacion. The old site is known as “ Laging Banwa” or old town. The hilltop is convenient look out for the marauding Moros or pirates who rampantly raided settlements during those days.  How Sapian got its name is told in a legend. It said that some Spanish Soldiers set foot on the hilltop and saw a boy sent on an errand holding a fifty centavo silver coin called “salapi”. When asked the name of the place the boy, utterly perplexed with the strange Castillian tongue and foreign looks of the soldiers, stammered “sapi”, thinking that he was asked what he had in his hand.  

Thus the soldiers named the settlement Sapian. Shortly afterward, the place was organized as a town of Sapian. Sapian is a 4th class Municipality in the Province of Capiz, Philippine. It belongs to the Second Congressional District of the Province of Capiz. Sapian Bay which is situated in the northern part of the municipality is geographically joined with Capiz Bay. The 30 km² Sapian and Capiz shallow sea bays has extensive intertidal mudflats, sandy beaches, mangrove swamps, estuaries of several small rivers, and associated coastal lagoons and marshes.  Sapian Bay which opens up to the sea is a source of livelihood for many Sapianons. Marine produce from Sapian Bay include green mussels "tahong", oyster "talaba", lobster and different species of fish,and clams. Many lands near sea water were developed into fishponds that produce milkfish , prawns and crabs     the place of Capizsapian  is a  very peaceful people. the sapianon people is respectively,kindly and helpful to other.
